BUSINESS EVENTS can now be held under the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regulation drawn up by the industry leaders. Each and every individual involved will have their roles and responsibilities, from a Venue Operator up to individual Attendees. The SOP will be divided into 3 stages – pre-event, during-event and post-event. Below are the summary of the new guidelines:-
Venue Operator
- Venue Staff
To have daily temperature check, and mandatory to wear mask
- Common Areas
To be sanitized at least 3 times a day, and hand sanitizers must be made available throughout the venue
- HIgh-touch Areas e.g. door handle, elevator button, escalator handle,toilet
To be sanitized every hour
- Event Set-up
Arrangement of tables and chairs in the venue must have at least 1 metre distancing or more.
Organizer
- Documentation
To have documentation (Travel & Health Declaration, and daily temperature record) of every ground staff involved (including the external parties who enter the venue)
- Establish An Effective Communication Channel
The liaison person in the organizing team will be nominated along with the designated public health agency. Contact information should be shared that includes 24hr availability
- Risk Assessment
A comprehensive risk assessment involving the expected number of visitors, countries of origin, current pandemic status etc will be studied at the begining of the planning phase, reviewed regularly and to be updated prior to the handover to the operational phase
- Coordination Meetings
Organizer, external suppliers and venue operators will go through the approved SOP and touch on the detailed move in/out schedule, set-up days requirements, worker passes etc.
- Contract Tracing
Pre-Registration system along with Health & Travel Declaration will be required to control admission.
Supplier
- Crew
To submit a full list of crew who will be involved at the venue, to have daily temperature check, and mandatory to wear a mask
To adhere and understands the SOP
- Equipment & Structures
To ensure all equipment/structures are well sanitized/disinfected before being transported to the venue
Attendees
- Pre-Registration
To pre-register prior to the event , and adhere to all requirements set prior attending the event
Venue Operator

Any staff with temperature 37.5°C or displaying any symptoms will be denied entry.
- Entrance & Exit Point
To set designated entrance and exit point to the venue
- Thermal Scanner
To prepare thermal scanner at designated entrance. Anyone with temperature 37.5°C or displaying any symptoms will be denied entry.
Organizer

Any staff with temperature 37.5°C or displaying any symptoms will be denied entry.
- Admission
Only grant pre-registered attendees with complete information to enter the venue
To closely monitor on the venue headcount.
Recycling of lanyard will not be encouraged
- Crowd Control System
Head Count System will be implemented at all entrances to monitor the number of attendees at the venue
Only a maximum number of 250 participants for every 1000sqm gross area will be allowed inside the event site at one time
- Medical Facilities
Any suspected cases must be reported to medical unit for medical attention
Isolation facilities will be required for participants who develop symptoms while they are waiting for health assessment is required
Ambulance & medical assistance must be made available on site.
- Continuous Communication
To prepare signages for attendees to remind them on the general SOP

Attendees

Attendees will be advised to pre-register to avoid crowd at the registration/entrance area
- Health Self-Monitoring
Attendees will be advised to monitor own health, and should the attendees are feeling unwell on event day, they will be discouraged to attend.
Venue Operator

Organizer
- Documentation
A master record of all individuals who were present at the event will be kept for at least 6 months or whichever period as directed by the Minisitry of Health. This is only for the use of contact tracing should the need arise.
