Malaysia Airports Concessionaires Conference and Award is an annual event held by Malaysia Airports to discuss on travel retail and to recognize the outstanding performance and innovative approach by the retailers in the airport.
Last year, Hawt Dotz had designed two pop up stores and these two designs were voted the Best Store Design 2019.
The concept of Delicacies of Malaysia store came from the cultural features of the Peranakan townhouse. The Chinese Palladian feature is instilled in the pillar and product racks. As for Little Malaysia, a twist of Malaysian traditional concept and modern geometrical ideas are instilled in the design. Geometrical wooden structure is used on the ceiling, and the “wau” (traditional kite) and “beca” (tricycle) are used to enhance the store interior . Both stores have made full use of the local cultural architecture to match the products sold.
