South African Tourism
At ITB Berlin 2026, the South African Tourism Pavilion brings the spirit of the “Rainbow Nation” to life through a bold and immersive exhibition concept. Inspired by South Africa’s diverse landscapes, cultures, and vibrant energy, the pavilion transforms these characteristics into a dynamic physical experience. From its sweeping forms to its warm colour palette, every element creates a strong sense of identity and discovery.
The pavilion’s architecture is defined by flowing orange banners that sweep across the overhead space, carrying the inviting message “Come Find Your Joy.” These sculptural elements create movement and visual rhythm while naturally drawing visitors into the space. Earthy tones, deep greens, and vibrant sun-inspired oranges work together to evoke South Africa’s natural beauty while maintaining a contemporary and polished exhibition aesthetic.
Beyond its visual impact, the pavilion is designed around storytelling and visitor experience. Curved arches and clean architectural lines frame dedicated tourism hubs, creating distinct yet connected spaces for regional destinations and offerings. A dedicated coffee bar, premium lounge areas, curated floral elements, and integrated multimedia displays add warmth and hospitality, transforming the pavilion into an inviting destination within the exhibition hall.
The overall concept balances energy, diversity, and connection, creating a space that feels both vibrant and welcoming. Open pathways encourage exploration, while carefully positioned experiential and hospitality areas invite visitors to pause, engage, and discover. More than a showcase of destinations, the pavilion becomes a physical expression of South Africa — colourful, diverse, joyful, and full of possibilities.
